What can I expect if I hire you for my wedding ceremony?

You will have live music for up to an hour. This includes about 20-25 minutes of prelude music to create a wonderful atmosphere while your guests are seated.

For the ceremony, you are welcome to select your favorite tunes for the entrance of mothers, grandmothers, bridesmaids and groomsmen. And, of course, for your entrance.

If requested, we play mid-ceremony music at those times you feel need music. This can be a very special touch if you choose to light a unity candle.

We then play for the recessional. Altogether, the ceremony music typically lasts about 30 minutes. This gives you approximately a full hour of music.

 

Does the string duo play for outdoor events?

Absolutely. Our only concerns are the safety of our insruments and enough warmth for our fingers to move. Experience has shown us that we cannot perform in temperatures below 60°F. (Thankfully, in California, this is not generally a concern!) At temperatures lower than that, we must have adequate supplemental heating.

We regret that we cannot perform in the rain. Our instruments are made of wood and cannot be exposed to direct rain or very high humidity where the moisture is appearing on surfaces, as it will cause them to warp.

We regret that we cannot be responsible for weather related cancellations. All remaining balances are due and must be paid.

We enjoy playing outdoors in our wonderful  warm weather.  However, our instruments are a bit more picky. They really must avoid direct exposure to the sun as this causes the instruments to warp and this diminishes the sound quality. For this reason, we require complete shade while using our instruments outdoors in hot weather.

 

If I choose you to be part of my special day...?

As is customary with providers of services for events, we do require a deposit to hold your date and time in our calendar. After receiving the deposit, we send you a contract. Please be ready to tell us what specific music, or song selections, you want played at what points in your wedding. Please return these selections to us at least 10 days before your wedding, or sooner if possible. We can and would be delighted to create a completely customized experience for your wedding, reception, or party, and we can consult with you to make certain all your favorite songs are in our program.

 

In order to fill out our contract properly, we need the following information from you along with the deposit.

 

Names of both the Bride and the Groom

Date and exact time of the Ceremony

Exact location with physical address

Contact person (if any such as wedding coordinator, friend, or parents in charge)

Best phone number

Best email address to send contract to

Duration (ceremony only, or ceremony plus reception)

The remaining balance is due the day of the event. 

 

What do I need to provide for the Ensemble?

Please provide two armless chairs for musicians and sufficient light to see our sheet music.

How do the musicians dress?

The musicians dress in formal concert attire unless otherwise requested: men in tuxedos or dark suits and tie or bow tie, and women in all black or evening gowns.


What if there is a special piece of music I would like to be played, can you do that?
Yes! We have over 100 titles in our library, but if your request is not in our current repertoire, we will add it for no cost for you.

 

 

How do I book you for my event?

 

Step 1: At this point we are sure you have already contacted us and verified we are available for your event, we have discussed how long you need us and the exact pricing.

 

Step 2: We are glad that you have decided to make us part of your special occasion. We would like to fomalize our agreement and in order to do so, we need the following information from you to prepare the contract. The contract is simple and has no fine print.

 

Step 3: After submitting this information to us you will receive our brief contract within 24 hours.

Please review and sign the contract and send it back to us to the address that appears on the top of the contract within three business days along with a check for the agreed reservation fee.

Please note that it is important for us to receive the signed contract and your check in a short period of time to assure your spot on our calendar. We receive booking requests on a daily basis so we are unable to hold a date on our calendar for longer than a few days.

 

Step 4: When we receive the signed contract and the reservation fee we will send you a confirmation and a written acknowledgement of the amount received and from that point our booking is completed
